So Very Far Behind

I am so far behind on this blog that I don't even know where to start.  So many things have been going on, I will try to remember the most important things.

Our first adventure was my major health issues.  I literally started to fall apart.  My legs were giving out on me when I would walk.  My memory was trashed, I was CRAZY fatigued, I had numbness and tingling in my right arm which then spread to my right leg, followed by the whole left side of my body.  Needless to say, I was totally FREAKING out.  The doctor was pretty sure I had MS or there was a chance of a brain tumor since it seemed to be getting worse.  I had an MRI, CT scan, and lots of blood work and everything was coming back normal.  Anyways, to make a long story longer, after weeks of this, I had 2 days where I felt almost normal and then went back to all the craziness.  I tried to figure out what was different in those 2 days.  The only thing I could think of was that I normally drink a Slimfast shake for breakfast and those days I didn't.  Then I realized that my symptoms had slowly begun right about when I started drinking those for breakfast.  I looked at the ingredients and it has those artificial sugars in it (you know, the phenolyn olyno...I don't know how to spell them or say them...but you know what I mean?) anyways, I looked up side effects on the internet and low and behold...it described my symptoms perfectly.  It even said that the symptoms could be mistaken for MS (among other things)!  So I of course stopping drinking it and WHAAALAAA! back to my total normal self.  Crazy, huh?!  I am SO grateful that was the solution.  It was pretty scary there for a bit.

The kiddos have been keeping me busy.  Dakota started ballet class and she LOVES it.  She is so good at moving her body, especially to music and it's fun for her to have something she can do herself.  Cooper is a little stud and Taylor is excelling in school.  I have been blessed with some pretty awesome, fun, great kids and I just love them to pieces.  We also added a new addition.  Alison is our puppy.  She is the best dog and I can't get over how mellow and sweet she is.  We had to get rid of our lab (Sara).  That animal just had too much energy for me to handle.  I would take her on a 2 hour brisk walk with running and she would still have energy to burn.  Anyways, Alison is awesome and has restored my love of dogs.

In other news (if you are still reading this, I know it's WAY long!), I had the Young Women (well the Miamaids) over to discuss our activity for the upcoming mutual.  When we were done they went outside because Taylor wanted to show off her cool tricks on our swing set.  I walked outside just in time to see her slip and fall really hard backwards using her hands/wrists to break the fall while her body landed on top of her.  I think she was a little excited to show the girls her stuff and pushed the envelope a bit...plus (according to her) her hands were very sweaty ;)!  Anyways, she was crying for over and hour, but could move her wrists and fingers.  We iced it for a while and I even put an ace bandage on for her.  I then took her arm between my two fingers to make sure the bandage wasn't cutting off circulation, when I touched that spot she hit her knees in pain.  Something was up and after a looooong time in Urgent Care, she had an xray and indeed her radius was fractured.  She was put in this big ol' bandage cast-like splint that went all the way up past her elbow.  She got her (hot pink) cast yesterday and is MUCH more comfortable as it is much smaller and she can bend her elbow.  She has really been such a trooper and I am so proud of her positive attitude.  I love that girl!
Ok, that is all for now, I will try to be better about recording things so I won't have to write anymore of these long novels.  Thanks for bearing with me and now for some fun pics! :)

Alison the best dog.  She is a terrier mix of some kid and I love how scruffy and mut-like she looks :)

This poor pup puts up with a lot.  I found this situation when we first got her.

Koko Loco

My sleepy ballerina

This pic cracks me up, I was taking these of Koty when Cooper and Alison strolled into the picture...

Battle over a sippy cup...Cooper won, good times!

I think we've got a little yell leader in the house.

The Tater Tot with her splint thingy...I still have to take her pic with the official cast.
